Funding for York West

Mr Speaker,

I am pleased to announce that in the past week the Liberal Government has invested over 2 million one hundred and twenty one thousand into valuable resources assisting the constituents in York West.
I proudly announce that the Philip Aziz centre was the recipient of over 2 million dollars. A children’s hospice, the Philip Aziz centre provides practical physical, emotional, and spiritual support for people living with HIV AIDS, cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

Another recipient; the Jane Finch Caring Village received over $100,000.00. This organization has under its umbrella city parks and recreation, the community, health centres, the school board, university and York University faculty.

The Hincks Dellcrest Treatment Centre and the Conflict Mediation services of Downsview, two other worthy recipients received over $53,000.00

I am proud that the McGuinty government’s mandate is prioritising those in greatest need. Funding allocation is justly flowing not only to facilitate our young people’s success but to the destitute, and those who do not have a voice but who desperately need to be heard.

Again Mr. Speaker my gratitude and congratulations to all of these community groups who do such outstanding work for our riding.
