In the York West riding alone, during the period from April 1 st , 1999 - June 30 th , organizations and projects based in the area received approximately $1, 345,000 in the form of nine grants supplied by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. In turn, with its involvement in the funding of Ontarian artists and artistic organizations, the Ontario Arts Council provides essential financial support to the York West riding. For instance, in 2002 - 2003, organizations and individuals working within the area received some $34, 775 in funding from the Council.
