For Immediate Release McGuinty Government Helps Low-Income Renters TORONTO – To build on the success of municipal delivery of housing for low-income households, the McGuinty government is providing a one-time capital grant of $26.69 million under the Delivering Opportunities for Ontario Renters (DOOR) to assist the City of Toronto in continuing to serve the people of Ontario. The announcement was made today by Mario Sergio, MPP. “The McGuinty government recognizes the contributions of Service Managers in enhancing the quality of life for the people of Ontario by providing rental housing for low income households,” said Sergio, MPP. “We are committed to providing housing assistance to the most vulnerable among us.” The grant to the City of Toronto is part of $127 million distributed to municipalities throughout the province under the Delivering Opportunities for Ontario Renters initiative.
